The Button Dress

Hundreds of tiny buttons, one big idea.

Finished illustration of Riley's Button Dress, front and back: white collar and puff sleeves, a corset covered in colorful buttons, red lacing at the back, and an asymmetric white skirt

Finished illustration based on Riley's sketch.

Where it started

This is Riley's own pencil sketch. She drew the front and back views and labeled every part herself: the neckline, the buttons, the elastic hem, the corset, the cuff hem and the corset lacing.

The bright buttons are the heart of this dress. They turn a simple white outfit into something joyful and full of color.
